We have a lot of new information for this year’s in-person Midwest Ale, including many housing options and some modified activities for the Ale weekend. Please read this page carefully before you register.
The Basics
- Registration is by individual; each attendee needs to register separately. If you are filling out the registration form for someone else (teammate, family member, friend), you’ll be asked for your own information too, so that we can contact you with any questions. If you’re the team squire, we’ll ask you a couple of additional questions.
- Payment is due at the time of registration. The information you submit won’t be processed until payment is made. If you’re applying for financial aid, please register now; there is an option to defer payment.
- After you register, you will receive a confirmation email that includes a link to “edit submission”, if you need to make a change after you have submitted. No changes can be made to payments or items that have payments through this form. If you need to make payment changes, contact the registrar.
Housing
The 2022 Ale will have several housing options, designed with COVID safety in mind:
Tent camping $220 per person
- BYO tent
- Shared bathroom / shower house
- A small number of RV hookups are available. Please indicate in the comments on your registration if you are interested in this option.
Shared Cabin (Rustic) $280 per person
- Bathroom in a different building (you have to go over to the barn)
- There are like 5 cabins with 8-12 beds per cabin and no bathroom facilities
- You can specify your roommates and request to be housed together as a pod, family, or team
- If you do not list a roommate, the housing coordinator will assign you to a shared cabin with 2-11 other people
Shared Room – Prairie Center $340 per person
- Bathroom connected to your room!
- 3-6 people per room
- You can specify your roommates and request to be housed together as a pod, family, or team
- If you do not list a roommate, the housing coordinator will assign you to a shared room with 2-5 other people
- Linen rental is available for an extra $10 **
Private Room – Barn / Farmhouse $380 per person
- Bathrooms are in the same building (shared facilities)
- 1-2 people per room
- Space very limited – only 12 rooms total are available
- Linen rental is available for an extra $10 **
Stay off-site in a motel $220 per person
- Program fee for the Ale weekend includes all Ale activities plus meals at camp
- If staying off-site, we ask that you follow COVID precautions at your lodging
If you wish to share with your family / team / pod, please specify the names of your roommate(s) when you register. For Shared Room and Shared Cabin requests who do not specify who they want to share with, housing and roommates will be assigned by the Housing Coordinator based on availability.
We strongly encourage you to organize with your preferred roommates BEFORE YOU REGISTER, and make sure all the members of your group make the same roommate requests.
**Linens are available for rent from Bethel Horizons for an additional $10 per person. The linens package includes sheets, a light blanket, pillow and pillowcase, and a towel.
For additional descriptions of the different housing facilities, please see the Bethel Horizons website.
Meals
Meals will be provided by the camp kitchen. When you register, please specify Omnivore, Vegetarian, or Vegan for a meal preference. The registration form provides space to share additional food restrictions or allergies, such as dairy- or gluten-free and nut-free. We will try to accommodate requests, but cannot guarantee a wide selection of choices for all food preferences.
Travel arrangements
Members of the host teams will provide transportation from the Madison airport (MSN) to the Ale site. Please provide your travel information on your online registration form. If you need to add or edit your travel information after you have registered, look for the edit link in your confirmation email.
Please review the MWMA COVID policy as you create your travel plan. All participants will be required to take a rapid antigen test on arrival at camp (or at the airport before getting a ride to camp).
If you request travel arrangements, we will communicate with you directly. Please make sure you provide a valid email address and phone number so we can contact you.
T-shirts
This year, ordering a shirt is NOT a part of registration. You can pre-order your shirt online (separately) and have it shipped directly to your home. Everything you ever wanted to know about the 2022 T-shirts can be found on the T-shirt page.
