Countdown to the Midwest Morris Ale!

Is this your first ale?

If so, we have put together a web page with information just for you!

Schedule, Tours, and Activities

Tours: This year we will be doing the traditional bus tours on Saturday visiting the area and small towns within about a 20 minute bus ride. On Sunday we will all drive/carpool to the Franconia Sculpture Park, also about 20 minutes from camp. Details for tours are on the Schedule page.  Additional information for the Sunday Tour at Franconia is available on the Venue and Travel page.

Activities: when you register for the Ale, you will have an opportunity to volunteer to lead a workshop, or to request a workshop topic. Come ready to host your favorite workshop!

Mass Dances

In addition to the standards – the Abram Morris Dance and Bonny Green Garters – we have chosen six mass dances for this year.

Step & Fetch Her Bampton
Mr. Tillotson’s Hops Bledington (Braggarts Dance)
Young Collins

Bledington

Note: We will be using the Charles Benfield tune in B minor.

Twiglet Border
Froggy’s First Jump Ducklington
Weeping Willow Tree Headington

The Mass Dance page has been updated with videos, detailed written instructions, and music.

We will hold a Mass Dance instruction session and review on Friday night.

What Mass Dances we have done in the past? Some information may be available here – keep in mind this link is archival and not updated: https://archives.midwestmorrisale.org/home/dances.html

Shirts

T-shirt ordering for pick up at check-in onsite at the Ale has ended.

We will have an online order and ship option available at a later date, however these will be different shirt style, higher price, and lower print quality than the shirts ordered through registration.

See the shirts page for more information about the 2025 t-shirts.

Financial Aid

The Midwest Morris Ale provides financial aid to community members for whom the cost of attending an Ale is a hardship. This is made possible through the generous donations of other members of the community. There is no age restriction or skill requirement. Learn more on our Financial Aid page for 2025.

Venue and Travel

For more information about Camp Lakamaga and travel options, please check out our page on Venue and Travel. Two important notes for this ale and venue:

    • Camp Lakamaga in its entirety is a NON-SMOKING facility.
    • This is also a BYOB event, no kegs allowed.

More information on the Sunday Tour at the Franconia Sculpture Park is available on the Venue and Travel page.
