Sunday Tour Information – Franconia Sculpture Park
On Sunday we will all drive/carpool to the Franconia Sculpture Park (about 20 minutes from camp.) Once there, we will break up into mini-tours around the park for a couple hours and then end with a mass stand. Franconia does have public restrooms available and we will have some snacks and water for filling your water bottles
A few considerations for folks to keep in mind:
- Franconia has little to no shade – consider bringing a large hat or umbrella for shade
- We will be walking around the 50 acre sculpture park on our tours – the grounds are flat with gravel and mowed pathways
- Keep that in mind when considering what you will need to carry with you that day
- You may want to consider bringing a cart or some other method of hauling around larger items like stick bags and large instruments
Items to Bring
In addition to your kit, instruments, chargers, and personal items, it is recommended that all attendees should bring the following with them to the ale:
- Item for the silent auction – if so inclined
- If interested in leading a workshop, any materials needed
- Bring enough layers to be comfortable — be prepared for wet and cool weather!
- Pillow
- Sleeping bag (or bedding for a twin size bed)
- If camping: tent and other desired camping items
- Towel and washcloth
- Flashlight or headlamp – new camp / new moon / dark sky!
- Beer mug, coffee mug, other reusable beverage cup (Note: this is a BYOB event, no kegs allowed)
- Insect repellent (ticks included!)
- Sun screen
- Water bottle
- Optional: umbrella or large hat for shade on Sunday’s tour
- Optional: power strip for sharing outlets in cabins, especially rustic cabins
- Optional: hammock – Camp Lakamaga has a hammock weaver station that up to eight hammocks can be clipped into.
