Financial Aid

The Midwest Morris Ale Association runs a financial aid program for individuals and families, established to develop and support dancers, musicians, leaders, and organizers. It is a way for the community to encourage attendance and participation, regardless of someone’s financial situation. This program is made possible by generous donations of goods and money in the silent auction, as well as independent donations.

The Ale is a community event, and everyone benefits from having as many of our members in attendance as possible. To this end, please don’t forget to ask if your own team can also assist individuals in attending this annual event. Please consult with your team squire to see if your team, as a whole, can assist you in any way.

Awards of financial aid to individuals or families are able to cover part of the cost of registration fees. Travel costs and other incidentals, such as linens rental and tee shirt orders, remain the responsibility of the individual. The identity of those who apply will be held confidential, and will not be made public by anyone associated with the application.

For the 2026 Midwest Ale, we are offering two options for financial aid awards to offset the cost of registration fees. In your financial aid application, you can request either:

  • Boost Award – $120
  • Boost Plus Award – up to $230

How to apply

  • Register for the Ale. Registration will open on April 1st.
    • The Financial Aid application is a part of the registration process
    • For the question “Are you applying for Financial Aid?”, reply “Yes”. This will open the section with the Financial Aid application.
    • Fill out the questions in the FA portion and then continue on to complete your registration.
  • Attendees applying for Financial Aid will be asked to pay a deposit of $80 at the time of registration.

Deadlines

The deadline for Financial Aid applications is Thursday, April 30th, 2026.

The Financial Aid Committee will meet soon after the application deadline, and we aim to send out decision letters by May 5th.
